Rare Diseases
Especially rare diseases often have genetic causes, as genetic diseases are fortunately rather rare. Many first symptoms can appear in (earliest) childhood, while about half of rare diseases manifest themselves later in adulthood. Examples include neurological diseases such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, dementia or autism (Asperger's) as well as typical adult disease patterns such as Crohn's disease, Huntington's disease or ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
It is important to identify causes at an early stage. This way, you can seek professional treatment in a targeted manner and possible therapeutic approaches can be found.
We will be happy to advise you/your patients whether the diagnosed disease may have a genetic cause.
